A dynamic virtual choir performance with six women singing from separate video frames. On the left, four singers are shown in individual black-background boxes. On the right, two women perform with playful flair—one singing into a hairbrush while wearing a beaded headband, the other dancing with dramatic expression in a sparkly outfit. The overall theme is joyful and theatrical.

The Ask

At a time when live music paused, Fog City Harmonia still had something to sing about—literally. With in-person concerts off the table, I was brought on to edit and deliver two virtual choral performances: Sequins on the Sofa (2020) and Quarantunes (2021). These weren’t just stitched-together Zoom calls (well… parts of them were) they were fully-produced video experiences designed to preserve performance magic, engage audiences remotely, and celebrate community in a time of distance.

What I Did

  • Lead Video Editor: I synced dozens of individually recorded vocal performances into cohesive pieces with rhythm, tone, and dynamic visuals.

  • Creative Direction: Developed a visual arc and show flow, incorporating everything from video overlays to animations and transitions that honored each concert’s unique vibe.

  • Event Producer: Coordinated final exports and scheduled YouTube Premieres for both concerts to simulate the feeling of a real-time performance with audience chat, countdowns, and live intros.

Why It Worked

  • Hundreds of live viewers tuned in to each event, with engagement across social platforms and community newsletters.

  • Created a lasting digital archive for both shows that still lives online and showcases Fog City Harmonia’s resilience, artistry, and joy.

  • Received glowing feedback from viewers who described the productions as “surprisingly engaging and emotional,” “technically amazing,” and “the next best thing to being in the room.”

“CeCe made us feel like we were still performing together—even though we were all singing from our couches. She didn’t just edit a concert—she created a moment.” – Fog City Harmonia member
