The Brief
For this project, my client asked for a film that felt like a memory. The vision was a nostalgic, emotional video in the style of an old VHS home movie, something imperfect and intimate rather than polished and staged.

The Process
My process always begins with listening. I asked questions about what moments mattered most, what feelings they wanted the film to evoke, and how they hoped to revisit the experience years down the line. With that in mind, I approached filming with a documentary-style eye, capturing candid details, small interactions, and atmosphere as it naturally unfolded.

When editing, I leaned into a handcrafted aesthetic: warm, slightly desaturated color grading, subtle film grain, and pacing that mirrored the rhythm of memory rather than a scripted sequence. I intentionally layered in handheld-inspired movement and transitions that echoed the look and feel of vintage home recordings, while still ensuring the story was cohesive and emotionally resonant.

The Result
The finished video plays like a time capsule: warm, intimate, and rooted in nostalgia. It brought the couple back to the feeling of their day not just through what they saw, but through the emotional atmosphere the film carried.

Although this project centered on a wedding, the same approach applies to other kinds of video storytelling: brand launches, personal milestones, or creative campaigns. My goal is always to preserve the essence of the story, turning real moments into cinematic keepsakes that feel both timeless and personal.
